Our commitment to excellence in early years care and education
Vision, Values and Aims
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide a high-quality nursery experience where children are at the heart of the center, through actively listening to children and families. We recognise that the child's parents/carers are the most important people in their lives and aim to work in partnership with parents/carers to ensure each child's needs and interest are met effectively.
At Playspaces Arbroath we offer a large outdoor space on site for children to freely explore and have varied opportunities and provocations in a safe and open environment. Our focus is the outcomes of the children and support of the families who choose us.
Our Core Values
Strong Relationships
We believe developing strong relationships, bonds and positive behaviour in the setting, outdoor space and wider community is essential in creating the right environment for effective learning, teaching and play.
Inclusion & Respect
Children should feel included, respected, safe and secure. Their achievements and contributions are valued and celebrated, helping them develop self-confidence, resilience and positive views of themselves. This applies equally to all staff in the learning environment.
Active Participants
Children should be seen as active participants in their play and learning and be seen as an individual and unique person.
Our Key Aims
Children face challenges with support, working through difficulties and making positive choices while being challenged when needed.
Staff consistently reflect and evaluate on practice to be the best practitioner they can be and provide high quality care.
All children, no matter their needs, are engaged in stimulating learning and play and can explore their curiosity and creativity in enabling environments.
Outdoor access consistently for all children, as well as exploration of the local community such as care homes, local shops and the library.
Use frameworks to best support our families and children such as GIRFEC, Building the Ambition, Space to Grow and the Curriculum for Excellence.
